You Define Love

I've experienced both love and what I thought was love, and found pain and hurt. The real definition of love is Kelly, who's given me everything and more. The time we share with one another is breathtaking. I feel safe in her arms, she embraces me; touching every bone in my body as it tingles to the touch of her warm flesh. Her presence lingers in my mind when she isn't physically with me, always on my mind, and in my heart. She cares for me, the way no one can and ever will. Our time spent with each other is blissful. The sound of her voice lets me know that I am safe from all danger. Her lips - oh, how sweet! The laughter we share is like no other. All is serene.

My problems, which she has not caused, are but small deteriorating objects that escape my mind when she comforts me. She respects me, not just as a husband, but as a person and a man. She is always honest with me, giving me advice which helps me in becoming a better person.

She brings out the best in me, the Simon who has been shut away from his feelings, worrying too much about the well being of others rather than himself, neglecting what means the most. Our relationship could not, and would not survive without forgiveness. The relationship we share is like no other. She looks out for my best interests. Helping each day with the patience I need with others. If I fall, she is right by my side to lift me up.

She is perfect in every way, shape, and form. Happiness describes every moment we share. We've gone beyond our limits, surpassing each other's barriers. What we have may become stale at times but will re-make and once again be fresh.

When I am in pain she is my remedy. She replenishes the holes made by others in my heart, mending them with her thoughtfulness, kindness, and well-being. She quenches my thirst, whatever it may be. She serenades me as if I were a king in a royal family. Oh, how I cherish her. We were once strangers, but have become the love of one another's lives.

Thank you, Kelly. Thank you for everything you've done and for everything you're still doing - It means the world to me.

The Secret World Of Santa Claus

Wow... how this brings me back into my childhood. The Secret World of Santa Claus is an animated TV show (my favorite to be exact) which I've been watching every year starting in December when I was younger. It's been re-runs for the last, probably at least ten years, but I can never get tired of those. I've never seen it air here in the USA, but I finally found it in English and even found out that you can order them on DVD. Man, I really need some kids, so stuff like this doesn't sound too childish and I actually have a reason to get excited about it. Oh well... anyway, here's a small preview from it and I really do recommend this to everyone who has children or - and that would be my case - just absolutely loves Christmas!

Undying Devotion

Before you came into my life, I had given up on ever finding my soul mate; the one person who could set my heart on fire with just one look. I thought that was the stuff of silly, dime store romance novels. At first you were just another face in the crowd - just another somebody passing aimlessly by, until that fateful day when my eyes laid upon your beautiful face. It was like a ray of sunshine peaking through a cloudy sky. It doesn't take a genius to work out how much I love you, but it takes a very clever person to work out why. You are the gentle breeze in my world of chaos, the calming presence that tells all to be still. When I'm down you lift me up, when I'm tired you spur me on. When I sleep I snuggle in the warmth of your embrace and feel safe. You are my security blanket from the everyday rigors of life. I cherish the day we met, and the love we share. I love you more with each passing day. And it eases me to know that as tomorrow approaches, that I will love you more than yesterday and tomorrow will be more than today. My love for you cannot be measured by words alone as "love" does not fully express my feelings for you. When I think of our love it reminds me of the miracles of life that only something higher can produce. Like the beautiful sunsets and sounds of Mother Nature that sooth our hearts and remind us of something bigger than we can imagine, where two hearts can intertwine and become one. Like two birds in love that fly in harmony and appear to dance with grace and the innocence of a child. You and only you have given me so much hope and have made me realize the true meaning in life. The true meaning of how a man should treat a woman and the true wonders of why we're here. Baby, please accept my heart as your own and listen to the rhythm of two hearts beating as one. This is my will and my reason to live, for without you I would crumble to dust. I now know that dreams of that one true soul mate are truly real and until now were only a fairy tale. Friendship

Something so unique. A bond far stronger than we could imagine for it can bear any pain, face any hurdle and still remain as strong as the first day it was built between two people. True friendship is rare to find, but those tho find it are the luckiest of all. Friends know how to make a bad day seem perfectly good.They know how to forgive when one fails to see the truth. They know how to give, know how to care and how to be there when you need them. Friendship is something which makes everything seem much easier, because if you have one near you, you wouldn't mind swimming through the void. Because you know wherever it may carry you, you have someone you can rely on and trust. Life is a hard battle but having a true friend near you makes the journey seem much easier, knowing someone is there with whom you can share your darkest secrets, your stupid dreams and your fears and hopes. Someone who will scold you and show you what's right. Someone who wouldn't budge from your side when a storm hits. Life is sometimes boring, so you need a friend to spice things up, and having a true friend beside you will help you find the missing ingredients in your life.

Ready Or Not - The Christmas Season Is Almost Upon Us

The time is almost here again, where everything is possible and everyone is filled with that Christmas spirit. Well I don't know about you all out there, but I certainly can feel it already. I went shopping for some outdoor Christmas decorations in the beginning of November and it couldn't have been too early for me. Christmas movies are already recording on our DVR and cinnamon candles have been lit also. Perhaps we'll be able to get a train for around the tree. I've always wanted one, but never actually gotten one. Also, having a collection of all those Christmas houses you can buy at the stores and build your own little town is something I hope to have in the future. I'd even build something just for Christmas to put it on. I also hope that we somehow can manage to go up north to Frankenmuth, the Christmas town of Michigan. I know it's about 2 hours away, but since it's the last Christmas we're going to spend in Michigan, I hope it'll happen. The huge tree in front of our house is almost naked and our front and backyard has been covered with leaves. Oh how I love this time of year - The days our longer, the temperatures are colder and we're even expecting the first snow of the season this week. As soon as Thanksgiving's passed, we'll be decorating the inside and outside of the house and of course we're going to buy a Christmas tree. I know it's not hard to see how excited I am about the upcoming season, but that's just me - always has been, always will be.

I'm actually quite a bit sad that we won't be having a Thanksgiving dinner over at my mom in law's house. She's been hospitalized again, about the 5th time in four months, and she's currently in a nursing home. Going to the hospital so many times for the exact same thing and they don't take care of it just doesn't make sense to me. I guess I'd have to be a doctor to understand, but it bothers me. It's not only stressful for her, but for us too. I hope she's feeling better soon and that she can finally put all that stuff behind her. Anyway, even though Thanksgiving is quite a busy holiday over at the Lester home, I enjoy it. So this year we'll be having our own little Thanksgiving dinner, which I'm looking forward to as well.

I have so many things in my life to be thankful for and lots of people don't even know that. Just the other week I finally sent my dad a package with a letter. I took the time to tell him how much I love him and how much I appreciate everything he does. I can always count on him and know that he'd help me if I needed his help. I wanted to tell him all that, because you never know how much time you have left with a person you love. It could all change in a second and I wanted him to know how I feel.

Every day I wake up, seeing my wife and realizing how thankful I am to have found her, to have the chance to love her and spend my life with her. I couldn't have wished for a better woman by my side and even though I make sure to tell her that I love her all the time, I don't think she actually knows how thankful I really am. But how could I ever let her know anyway? In all that time I've been with her, I haven't gotten close to explaining what I feel for her. Believe me, I've searched for ways that would truly let her know, but there's no way my feelings for her could be explained. At least not as of 2010. Maybe one day in the future, when technology's even better than now, I'll be able to explain.

I'm also thankful a lot for my sister in law. She's done so much for me since I know her and she's been a wonderful friend to me. Being there for one another is just as important to her as it is to me. I wish for her that she'd be taking things slow and calm down. Running around all the time just isn't healthy and if she continues doing that, it'll break her. But what am I saying anyway, we'll be moving back to Arizona next year, and everything will change then.

I'm thankful for everyone who's in my life and everyone who's been in my life. Many people have touched my life, but once a friendship is over there usually isn't a way back, because people have been hurt. I've had a lot of different friends in my life but no matter how much they meant to me, they vanished anyway. I've always said that I choose quality over quantity, but I've come to realize that I can't depend on that either. The people I really need and know will never leave me are by my side, and that's all I need!

4th Anniversary Letter

My Dearest Kelly

I am taking a moment to think of you, which follows all the moments I think of you, which fill my day.

And in this moment, I am thinking of your lips, your eyes, your features and your figure; your warmth as I hold you; the smell of your hair as we kiss -- all the things that excite me when I look at you and am near you. I am thinking of them, and reflecting how little they mean when I also think of you -- the inner you. The soul I have come to know and cherish, for your kindness with people, your gently manners, and the way you strive to be a better person every day. This is what I love. The you that I know lasts forever, and that I intend to be with forever.

There is so much I would like to say to you, to tell you what you mean to me... but the words don't ever come. You have the most amazing way of showing me how much you care; you share things with me that I couldn't share with anyone else. And through everything we have gone through, all I have to do is lean on you and know my heart and soul are safe. There have been a few speed bumps in our road, but we always stay hand in hand, heart to heart and soul to soul.

I never knew love until you; I can't imagine life without you. You are my everything and I am so blessed with your love and devotion. I love you, Baby, more than I can ever tell you. There are no words for the love I have. It is yours, always and forever, for eternity and beyond.

Things Are Looking Good

They patio is finally finished and the garden is blooming. Having a backyard sure is an absolutely great thing. We've been working hard and getting all that done and I'm looking forward until it's all finished and we can sit out there and enjoy every thing. Just today I put the BBQ grill on the patio, the table and the chairs and it looks great. I wish we'd have some actual patio furniture, but what we have will do for now.

The temperatures are great too, especially considering that it's not even summer yet. It's gonna be a hell of a summer, and we sure need to have an umbrella ready or we'll be grilled by the sun. Especially looking forward to the evenings we're gonna spend out there around the bonfire. We're just have to have some bug spray, because those mosquitoes are eating me alive. It is finally something we're doing for just us and it feels great.

Kelly is now officially 9 days smoke free, and I love it. She's in a better mood lately, but I still have to be strong. I know she can do it and I'm very proud of her, I just can't mention it or I get yelled at... LOL.

So things are looking much better than in the beginning of the year, and even though I'd never thought I'd say that back in the beginning of 2010, but it is going to be a great year.

A Proud Moment

Four days ago, my wife handed me her pack of cigarettes and told me to put it in the refrigerator. I looked at her, not understanding anything, so she told me that cigarettes stay fresher in the refrigerator and that she's less likely to grab for a cigarette when they're not next to her. I know that it takes a lot to quit smoking, that it's hard but definitely possible if you really want it. She told me before that she's not ready to quit, and I answered her that there's no point in trying then, because you can only do it when your mind is set to it.

I knew the moment she handed me those cigarettes that she was serious. Serious with quitting smoking, or at least cutting it down for right now. There's been times she smoked a lot, hell that includes me too, times when we smoked about one and a half packs a day each and sometimes even more. 30+ cigarettes a day was the usual and the day she started to cut down she only had 11 cigarettes. 11!! Ain't that great? When I look at her I can see that it's not easy for her, but after 6 months of quitting I am ready to support her. I feel strong enough to help her reach her goal. She's doing a great job and I can't even express how proud I am.

She's doing it all on her own, and she's even cut down on the coffee. Instead of 12+ cups a day she's having 2 cups. Cigarettes and coffee definitely is her biggest addiction - besides me that is =] ! No seriously, that was what her breakfasts used to involve - cigarettes and coffee. Cutting down on two addictions is a really big step.

So baby, if you read this, I just want to let you know how very proud I am of you! You're holding up so great and I am here whenever you need some help. Let me be your rock you can lean on whenever you need a break or whenever you doubt yourself. Let me be your punching bag whenever you feel down. I am here for you and I know you can succeed. I know what you're fighting for and I could not be happier.

2010 - The Year of Changes

Like every new year, you decide on a resolution and within a month, or perhaps even a couple of weeks, the resolution is broken. We all know it, we've all done it - once, twice or even more times.

I've done it too, many many times before. Most of the time I've set my resolutions on losing weight and quitting smoking, but so far I've never succeeded. I went on a diet for maybe 4 weeks and then I got tired of it and just went back to the regular way. Thinking about it now I sure could kick myself in the ass, if only I could reach. But anyhow, last August I decided on quitting smoking. Yes, I've done it many times before, the longest was 1 year without a cigarette, but I kept returning to those smoking lung sticks. So on 08/15/09 I decided to quit for good. Not only for me, but for Kelly as well. I want that my little sperms swim in super speed and make sure they get a place in the egg. I want to be able to run around with our kids without breathing like crazy and I don't want the kids to grow up surrounded by cigarettes. My parents both smoked when I was young and studies show that children are more likely to smoke if their parents do. Now I don't want to blame my parents for me smoking, but I'm just saying. Those are the reasons why I quit and I know I'll never smoke a cigarette again. I want to be ready to support my wife when she decides on quitting and I hope she is proud of me and sees that it is possible, you just have to want it!

So that's what happened in the middle of last year. But last year is past. What matters is what's happening now, here and now in the present. And on January 3rd, a healthier lifestyle has begun. We've decided on eating healthy, exercising and keeping an eye on our weight and so far it's going great. I've lost a total of 9.4 pounds and it feels great. Who would have thought that switching to whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, red potatoes, light stuff and organic fruits and vegetables would still be enjoyable. Well let me tell you: It is delicious, not to mention good for you. I try to exercise at least 1 hour per day with 2 break days a week. It's not always easy but Kelly sure pushes me through. I think she really enjoys working me that hard and hearing me screaming, but after the hour is over it feels great. 'Failure is NOT an option' is our motto and if I can barely push the dumbbells up some more, I just repeat that saying in my head. My goal for this year is to lose at least 100 pounds. Big goal huh? Yeah I know, but I can do it. Why you ask? Because I WANT it. I know I said it before, but it's different now. It's totally different. I had to switch the switch in my head first to be able to let my body go through all that hard work and I finally succeeded to switch it in my head.

I noticed that whatever you want to do, no matter how hard it might be, is possible as long as your head is set to it... because...

...'FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION'

Friendship

Friendship is a bond between 2 or more people whom you are close with. A friendship is easy to lose but hard to gain. This is because arguments and fights occur easily between pals. However, friendships are difficult to fix back, or form, due to misunderstandings and the difference of likes and dislikes. Some people treasure friendships a lot, while others take these bonds for granted. A friendship should be valued wisely as such matters do help in the future. When you have a problem occurring, you can always find your friends, or vice versa. These precious bonds are like treasures, difficult to find, but easy to lose.

Although numerous people define friendship in different ways, i define it as loyalty, trust and acceptance between people. In order to form a friendship with someone, a person must be loyal to them and the favor will be returned. This means that no matter what, a friend is always there for them, even in the darkest of times. A friend is willing to give them advice when they're faced with a predicament, and they should be always willing to do the same. When they have a bad day, a good friend is there to cheer them up and make them smile again. Secondly, a good friend must be trustworthy. When someone tells another person a secret, they are trying to prove how trustworthy their friends are. But when someone breaks this trust, the friendship is typically broken or badly damaged. Thirdly, in order to be friends, a person must be able to accept others for who they are. They need to be accepting of who the person is on the inside instead of just the outside. A good friend is also never afraid to do something brainless with their friends when they're just looking for a good time. In conclusion, numerous people define friendship in different ways, however I define it as loyalty, trust and acceptance of others.

Real friends are people you can tell everything to. Whether it's something good or bad, friends are there to comfort you and support you in your decisions. It's not always easy to please a friend, but all you need to do is to talk to them.

I don't have many friends, but that is absolutely fine with me. Quantity over quality is my motto for friends and that explains the choice of people I let close to me.
